Well after 9 seemingly endless months on Friday May 21, 2010 our son Oliver Stuart Buck was born. He was 5 pounds 7 ounces and was 18 inches long. The labor was quick and progressed speedily throughout the day. It started with a phone call at 7:30 am from Leigh Anna saying she was having contractions- a pun she posted on Facebook which no one seemed to get. I decided to go to work because I thought I still had a full work shift to prepare for the baby. But at 11 I got a call that she was dilated to a 6- so I hightailed it to the hospital where in just a few hours Oliver was born at 2:31 in the afternoon, after only about 15 minutes of pushing and 4-5 solid pushes. HUGE improvement over the 2 hours of pushing followed by forceps needed for Joseph's birth. We've been chillin at the hospital ever since but we arrived home today about 2:00. Mommy and Olly are downstairs sleeping, Joseph is at Papa's house and I am blogging.
But what people really want to see are the pictures- so here is a few. Joseph was our staff photographer and we have many pictures of Daddy's shoes, but here are a few good ones. Thanks to all who visited us and sent well wishes- now the hard part trying to fight off the tiredness and get this boy fed. I'm taking a little time off work to help out but I'm already kind of tired- but he's worth it- he's cute.
Both of our children were born exactly on their due dates even though once again Mommy lied about it to throw people off the trail to make the pregnancy seem shorter. This seems quite amazing to me. It is also amazing to me that one minute they are so small and the next they are crazy like Joseph and running all over the place.
