To catch you all up on our lives Jared accepted a job as the administer of the municipal court the beginning of September in Breckenridge, CO which is about 1 1/2 hours from where we live now. Breckenridge is a small ski resort town up in the mountains. Now I know plenty of people that would jump at the chance to live in a ski town and be a ski bum but I am not one of them. Last year's blizzards are still too fresh in my memory for me to be excited about living in all that cold and snow. The thought of being snowed in with a newborn doesn't sound very appealing to me. I hate being cold and snow so the thought of living somewhere where it doesn't melt after a day or two makes me want to cry. In fact I did cry quite a bit about it. I blamed my crazy pregnancy hormones but the truth be told I like living in the city. We decided the job experience was too good for Jared to pass up and the town too far to commute each day so he is currently living up there during the week and comes back to our apartment on the weekends. The current plan is he will continue to live there and I'll see how I feel once Joseph is born. I have 12 weeks of maternity leave and will be returning to work afterwards for a while. We haven't decided if we will give up our apartment in Highlands Ranch and I can live with Jared part of the week and family the rest of the week or just keep our apartment. Not really sure we can afford the two rents especially since the cost of living in Breckenridge is 2-3 times more than here in Denver. It's been two weeks so far and things have been going well for both of us. Now as long as Jared makes it down the mountain in time for the birth of our son....
Speaking of Joseph I went to the doctor yesterday and found out I'm now dilated to about a centimeter. Only 9 centimeters to go and Joseph will be here. I can't believe it's almost time for his arrival. I don't feel at all ready yet to bring him home and have to be a mom but I'm definitely ready to be done being pregnant. I'm still working and am hoping to work until I deliver.
